About the role

The Lujan Laboratory in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University investigates links between nutrition, metabolism, and fertility in women. Specifically, the laboratory focuses on improving the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), across the reproductive lifespan.

Responsibilities

  • Participant Recruitment & Enrollment (30%)
    • Lead participant recruitment and enrollment
    • Coordinate procedures with the manager of the Human Metabolic Research Unit (HMRU)
  • Biospecimen Collection & Management (10%)
    • Manage image, sample, and data processing and repositories
  • Data Management & Research Support (10%)
    • Facilitate communications and protocols with institutional research oversight entities
    • Maintain study compliance records
    • Facilitate reporting to relevant funding agencies
  • Clinical Study Compliance (5%)
    • Ensure adherence to clinical study protocols and regulations
  • Lab Member Oversight (5%)
    • Provide training support to post-doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate trainees
  • Other Research Responsibilities (5%)
    • Support other research initiatives as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, physiology, nutrition, or a related field and at least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in conducting clinical research and working with human research participants to obtain informed consent, collect data, and monitor safety.
  • Experience writing or reviewing IRB protocols.
  • Clinical database management experience (i.e. REDCap) and proficiency with statistical software (i.e. SPSS, R, others).
  • Experience in applying medical terminology in clinical and research contexts.
  • Experience in managing databases, including data entry, organization, and maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain a team-oriented approach and cultivate positive and collegial workplace relationships.
  • Demonstrated consistent integrity and ethical behavior in professional settings.
  • Able to take responsibility for personal outcomes and take pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills demonstrated through clear documentation and effective interactions.
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities.

Pay

$65,447.00 - $75,632.00

Schedule

Full-time, benefits eligible, one-year term appointment with the possibility of renewal, contingent on available funding, work, and successful performance.

Onsite position located on the Ithaca, New York Campus.

Regular business hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.
