About the role

The Research Coordinator position at Houston Methodist Academic Institute is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of research protocols, assessing and determining patient qualification for studies, ensuring accurate data collection, and maintaining research records.

Responsibilities

• Conducts screening and interviews to evaluate patient eligibility in study
• Promotes a positive work environment and contributes to a dynamic, team-focused work unit
• Communicates and reports pertinent information to the patient care team
• Schedules research subject appointments for tests and procedures
• Compiles, documents, and enters accurate information in various forms and systems
• Maintains records for clinical studies and regulatory documents
• Captures and reports Adverse Events (AE) or Serious Adverse Events (SAE)
• Manages inventory of supplies necessary for the study
• Maintains working knowledge of research processes and follows ICH/GCP guidelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Two years’ research experience

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrates skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job
• Speaks, reads, and writes English proficiently
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers
• Proficient in clinical and research data entry
• Handles challenging/difficult situations with sound judgment
• Executes analytical skills
