Clinical Registered Nurse II-BMH Med Surg-PT/7p-7a

Responsibilities

• Clinical - Assessment: Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing data collection based on patient's immediate condition or needs within specified timeframe. Conducts ongoing assessments as needed and reprioritizes care.
• Clinical - Planning: Develops, modifies, and integrates an individualized care plan incorporating the medical plan of care, key elements from other disciplines, and standards of care. Establishes individualized, measurable patient goals in collaboration with patient, family, and healthcare team.
• Clinical - Intervention: Performs appropriate treatments and therapeutic nursing interventions as per the individualized plan of care. Recognizes potential problems and responds to urgent/emergent risks. Initiates emergency resuscitative measures as necessary. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care.
• Clinical - Evaluation: Evaluates patient responses to care based on effectiveness of nursing interventions and adjusts the interdisciplinary care plan accordingly. Identifies and resolves recurring practice concerns impacting care.
• Clinical - Patient Education: Identifies learning needs of patients and families, teaching based on their needs. Ensures patients demonstrate knowledge of treatment within their abilities. Communicates with patients and family to include them in the plan of care.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing. Preferred Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BSN).
• Experience: Minimum One Year of Nursing (RN) Experience.
• Licenses & Certifications: Minimum Registration as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or holds a compact license to practice in Virginia. Basic Life Support. Additional Specialty Requirements: After hire date according to department/unit standards – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and others as applicable.
