About the Role
This position functions within a Medicaid-billable program.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Developmental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with infants, children, adolescents, and families, preferably within child welfare, foster care, healthcare, developmental services, or behavioral health settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent development, infant and early childhood mental health, developmental disorders, trauma, attachment, behavioral health, and caregiver-child relationships.
- Knowledge of the unique developmental, behavioral health, and healthcare needs of children and youth involved in foster care.
- Knowledge of New York State child welfare, behavioral health, developmental, and educational service systems.
Skills
- Fluency in English and Spanish preferred, including verbal communication, required.
- Written proficiency sufficient to perform assigned professional responsibilities is also required.
- Knowledge of evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions.
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to provide consultation and education to caregivers, foster parents, staff, and other members of the treatment team.
- Ability to participate in clinical supervision, multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, staff meetings, and required agency training.
