Job Summary
The Clinical Psychologist will conduct one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Duties include reviewing mental health history documentation and capturing responses through a web-based examination form. Common reasons for assessment include PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
Requirements
- Must be a psychologist or psychiatrist licensed in at least one state in the United States.
- Psychiatrists or Neurologists must be board certified or complete a 2-year residency with either specialty.
- Psychologists must obtain a PhD or PsyD with a Major in Psychology; Specialty studies must focus on the adult population such as Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology (or a combination of these).
- Child-focused psychology programs are not acceptable.
- Psychologists must have graduated from a doctorate or post-doctorate APA-accredited program.
- Must have an active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must demonstrate compassion and professionalism, and have a commitment to excellent service and care.
- Must have proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and using EMR and platforms.
- Must be skilled in professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision-making.
- Must work independently and manage time to provide quality service while meeting set deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in clinical settings.
- Prior VA or C&P experience.
