About the role

Conduct one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams in Lancaster, TX. Review pertinent mental health history documentation and provide behavioral health compensation and pensions exams for Veterans. Common assessments include PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. Exams are documented electronically and submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.

Responsibilities

  • Review mental health history documentation for Veterans.
  • Perform one-time, non-treatment behavioral health exams.
  • Capture responses during exams using a web-based examination form.
  • Complete all documentation electronically.
  • Submit completed exams to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Requirements

  • Must be a psychologist or psychiatrist licensed in at least one U.S. state.
  • Psychiatrists or Neurologists must be board certified or have completed a 2-year residency in their specialty.
  • Psychologists must hold a PhD or PsyD with a major in Psychology, focusing on the adult population (e.g., Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology). Child-focused programs are not acceptable.
  • Psychologists must have graduated from an APA-accredited doctorate or post-doctorate program.
  • Active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to excellent service and care.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and EMR platforms.
  • Strong professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time to meet deadlines while delivering quality service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in clinical settings.
  • Prior VA or Compensation and Pension (C&P) experience.

Pay

$55.00–60.07 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

Schedule

Full Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
