Clinical Psychiatric Director - MD/DO - MD141

About the role

The Clinical Psychiatric Director is responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations, prescriptive services, referrals for clients for mental health care and mental health education and gives oversight of services with other psychiatric prescribers at NARA NW.

Responsibilities

• Review, develop, and implement policies and procedures related to psychiatric prescribing with the Medical Director.
• Cook up with other mental health managers/directors to determine staffing needs for psychiatric prescriber services across the different NARA locations.
• Support psychiatric prescribers to ensure high quality care to clients.
• Cook up with other managers/directors to ensure psychiatric prescribers have the resources necessary to ensure high quality of care.
• Provide administrative oversight in regard to timecards, vacations, and other similar administrative decisions regarding psychiatric prescribers, ensuring adequate coverage during regular business hours.
• Provide comprehensive assessment and prescriptive mental health care.
• Cook up with behavioral health clinicians regarding behavioral changes.
• Cook up with contractual pharmacy, primary care providers, hospitals, and laboratories for required diagnostic procedures.
• Provide mental health education to individual patients as needed, such as managing chronic illness, high-risk behavior, and health consequences.
• Engage in ongoing education and specialized training to maintain a high quality of care to NARA NW patient population.

Requirements

Commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Psychology, Psychiatry, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience in developing and implementing psychiatric policies and procedures.
• Experience in coordinating with other mental health managers/directors.
• Experience in providing administrative oversight in regard to timecards, vacations, and other similar administrative decisions regarding psychiatric prescribers.
• Experience in providing comprehensive assessment and prescriptive mental health care.
• Experience in cooking up with behavioral health clinicians regarding behavioral changes.
• Experience in cooking up with contractual pharmacy, primary care providers, hospitals, and laboratories for required diagnostic procedures.
• Experience in providing mental health education to individual patients as needed, such as managing chronic illness, high-risk behavior, and health consequences.
• Experience in engaging in ongoing education and specialized training to maintain a high quality of care to NARA NW patient population.

Pay

$240,000.00 - $300,000.00 salaried, exempt

Schedule

This is an in person position, approx. Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Some additional evening and weekend work required.
