About the Role

Ensures coordination and continuity of patient care for transplant patients to maintain organized and efficient support to staff and other health care professionals. Responsibilities include identifying patient alterations in health, assessing responses to treatment protocols, communicating data to physicians, implementing nursing interventions based on established protocols, and anticipating potential outcomes for patients at risk for complications. Demonstrates ability to assess and interpret patient data relative to age-specific needs and transplanted organs, providing care according to protocols. Assists with chronic disease management in an ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient alterations in health and assess responses to treatment protocols.
• Communicate appropriate data to physician staff.
• Implement nursing interventions based on established treatment protocols.
• Anticipate potential outcomes for patients at risk for complications.
• Assess and interpret data reflective of the patient's status, considering age-specific needs and transplanted organs.
• Provide care according to established protocols and nursing practice.
• Assist with chronic disease management in an ambulatory setting.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited four-year baccalaureate program in nursing (BSN required; ASN considered if actively pursuing BSN).
• Master’s degree in nursing or related health care field preferred.
• Current license as a registered nurse (R.N.) in the State of Florida.
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience, with at least two years in medical/surgical care for transplant patient populations.
• Critical care or transplantation experience preferred.
• Knowledge in transplant immunology, technical aspects of surgery, interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory data, and clinical management of patients.
