Responsibilities
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based patient care practices.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee orientation programs for new employees, including supporting and educating preceptors throughout the onboarding process.
- Design and deliver educational programs, including in-services, skills labs, and training for high-risk and high-volume clinical skills.
- Assess learning needs, evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives, and revise programs to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure staff are informed of updates to clinical procedures, standards of care, and new equipment, providing training as needed.
- Partner with leadership and other departments to support staff development, improve patient outcomes, and maintain strong interdisciplinary relationships.
Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited RN program required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of acute care experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
- License(s)/Certification(s): Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, ACLS, PALS or NRP certification.
