About the role

Responsible for performing a variety of duties in various ambulatory settings, including primary, multi-specialty, and specialty practices. May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas, including assisting providers with patient care and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these standards in daily operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of recent healthcare experience preferred and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office
  • Experience with Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injections
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication, and teamwork skills
  • Outstanding patient experience skills
  • High School diploma or GED

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by NJAC(13:35-6.4) approved certifying body
  • Current certification from a recognized certifying board approved by NJ Board of Medical Examiners
  • Current BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association
