Clinical Placement Coordinator
About the role
The Clinical Placement Coordinator provides clerical/office support within the Office of Clinical Practice. The role includes independent action and keen judgment in problem-solving, frequent interaction with confidential issues, familiarity with P-12 school contexts and higher education/university processes, and data entry.
Responsibilities
- Review faculty placement requests; verify and record student criminal background checks, FERPA, ARRI, and Tort forms.
- Congratulates and records student criminal background checks, FERPA, ARRI, and Tort forms.

- Coordinates between MFE COE faculty and school partners to secure placements; builds positive working relationships with students, faculty and school partners; aids in resolving sensitive and highly confidential placement issues.
- Ensures certified mentors are located for student placements. Verifies mentor teacher information, including certification and current grade band.
- Communicates with students regarding pre-placement requirements, sends reminders to complete requirements, and answers placement questions. Sends placement confirmations to students, field and program coordinators, mentor teachers, and school administrators.
- Provides the Office of Academic Programs with data for program review, yearly placement numbers for the annual report, and other requests for data necessary for accreditation.
- Updates FileMaker Pro database for educational field experiences. Provides faculty with semester grade band reports.
- Aid in troubleshooting with candidate support teams across placement span.
- Maintain and initiate district/school MOU initiation/renewal process. Manage communications and participants throughout the negotiation process, draft iterations, etc.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with P-12 school contexts and higher education/university processes. Working knowledge of office practices and procedures. Organization and time-management skills. Problem-solving skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Use discretion with confidential information. Use independent judgment. Establish and maintain effective collegial working relationships. Multi-task. Input data with accuracy and efficiency. Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office, including Word, Access / File Maker Pro, Excel, and Outlook. Typing skills.
