ReGenesis Health Care is seeking an enthusiastic Full-Time Pharmacy Technician with excellent patient-care skills and a great attitude to join our multi-disciplinary practice in Spartanburg. The Clinical Pharmacy Technician (CPT) works as part of the medical team providing clinical-pharmaceutical services to a wide range of patients in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and in accordance with policies and standard operating procedures set by ReGenesis Health Care (RHC) and within the constraints of the CPT Scope of Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of patients’ medication/drug history, lab result history, & diagnostic history.
  • Pre-Screen patients and insurance benefit summaries for medication coverage and affordability and successfully complete Prior Authorizations for all necessary medications.
  • Process test prescriptions through Pioneer and huddle with providers regularly to provide guidance for treatment prior to seeing patients.
  • Work directly alongside providers to develop a plan of care for every patient providing the most appropriate compliance-driven prescription outcomes using evidence-based standardized orders.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to convey information directly to patients regarding pharmacy information, medication information, and answer questions under supervision of providers and pharmacists.
  • Effectively communicate the benefits of using ReGenesis Pharmacies.
  • Occasionally, depending on pharmacy staffing, provide coverage for quality pharmaceutical care by working alongside pharmacist to fill/dispense prescriptions in the pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Board Certified in South Carolina by PTCB or ExCPT.
  • Active license to practice in South Carolina, CPhT preferred.
  • 3 years of experience, FQHC preferred.
  • Vaccine Certified, preferred.
  • Specialized interest/ability to successfully process medication Prior Authorizations to allow patients access to optimal healthcare.
  • Ability to adapt and be proficient in technological aspects of medicine, including ease of electronic medical records, pharmacy software, MS Office applications, and language translation assisted devices.
  • A predisposition and talent for multitasking, flexibility, and willingness to respond appropriately to unforeseen demands.
  • Demonstration of productive interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong sense of compassion and personal ethics.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to remain focused and accurate under pressure.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently and as part of a health care team.
  • Ability to care for all patients regardless of payor source, ethnicity, gender, or medical condition.
  • BLS Certified.
  • Fluency in a second language; Spanish preferred.

Pay

Excellent pay up to $23.00 per hour depending upon experience.

About the role

The CPT, under the direct supervision of Director of Healthcare Delivery (DHD), in conjunction with Chief of Pharmacy Operations (CPO), will interact with patients, work directly with RHC’s Pharmacy Programs, and communicate regularly with staff and providers for medication consultations. Responsible for ensuring continuous quality improvement and for providing high-quality care with a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) approach. Utilizing the most up-to-date evidence-based guidelines, the CPT serves to provide indirect patient care and act as a support system in the team of caregivers including medical, nursing, and administrative staff.
