Clinical Pharmacy Manager
About the role
HCA Florida JFK North Hospital seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Manager who is passionate about the patient experience. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing pharmacy clinical programs, including formulary management, policy and procedure development, and education.
Responsibilities
- Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.
- Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain drug therapy regimens, identify drug interactions, and promote rational drug therapy.
- Develop and manage drug utilization reviews and related programs.
- Manage and monitor the hospital formulary, ensuring compliance and promoting rational drug therapy.
- Develop and implement pharmacy clinical initiatives, sharing responsibilities with the Pharmacy Operation Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy, with a Pharm.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist required.
- 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, preferably within the area of focus required.
- Completion of a hospital PGY2/ pharmacy specialty residency or fellowship preferred.
- BCPS certification preferred.
- Preferred Specialty: BCPS certification is preferred. Other certifications (e.g. FCCP, FASHP) are also preferred.
- Hospital Pharmacy Management experience preferred.
- Experience performing basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconciliation of figures required.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office, Meditech, Business Objects, and purchasing vendor applications required.
- ACLS certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy required.
- Active Pharmacy Consultant license, or equivalent as per State requirements for a Pharmacy, required.
