Clinical Pharmacy Manager

About the role

HCA Florida JFK North Hospital seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Manager who is passionate about the patient experience. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing pharmacy clinical programs, including formulary management, policy and procedure development, and education.

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.
• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain drug therapy regimens, identify drug interactions, and promote rational drug therapy.
• Develop and manage drug utilization reviews and related programs.
• Manage and monitor the hospital formulary, ensuring compliance and promoting rational drug therapy.
• Develop and implement pharmacy clinical initiatives, sharing responsibilities with the Pharmacy Operation Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy, with a Pharm.D. preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist required.
• 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, preferably within the area of focus required.
• Completion of a hospital PGY2/ pharmacy specialty residency or fellowship preferred.
• BCPS certification preferred.
• Preferred Specialty: BCPS certification is preferred. Other certifications (e.g. FCCP, FASHP) are also preferred.
• Hospital Pharmacy Management experience preferred.
• Experience performing basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconciliation of figures required.
• Experience working in Microsoft Office, Meditech, Business Objects, and purchasing vendor applications required.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Active Pharmacy Consultant license, or equivalent as per State requirements for a Pharmacy, required.
