The Specialty Clinical Pharmacist provides distributive and clinical pharmacy services to the outpatients and visitors of the Medical University Hospital and Clinics.
Responsibilities
- Addresses the needs of nursing and medical personnel regarding drug disposition and usage.
- Counsels patients and health care professionals by providing general and patient specific drug information.
- Ensures timely and medically appropriate dispensing.
- Participates in the patient management and quality programs of the Specialty Pharmacy.
Requirements
- Minimum Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred.
- Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
