Responsibilities

• Accurately interprets physician orders; including dosing, allergies, interactions and patient profile review.
• Accurately dispenses medications at the campus/area assigned in a timely manner, in the appropriate quantities, using the appropriate techniques (e.g., aseptic technique for IV admixture, appropriate paperwork for controlled substances).
• Performs clinical functions appropriate to the campus/area assigned; including but not limited to – renal dosing, kinetic dosing, profile review, and patient education.
• Assists with inventory management as appropriate for special order items, conversion to formulary items, and processing out of dates.
• Provides appropriate drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Appropriately utilizes Pyxis.
• Directs and supervises work of pharmacy technicians appropriately.

Qualifications

• Computer skills with Word & Excel.
• Education: BS or PharmD from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
• Experience: Hospital experience preferred, but new graduates are eligible with hospital rotations.
