About the role

The Clinical Pharmacist PNE at Northwestern Medicine is responsible for ensuring medication safety, providing expert advice, and managing treatment side effects for patients. This role supports the oncology triage clinic and works primarily on weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets medication orders and coordinates problem-solving with healthcare professionals.
  • Maintains comprehensive patient profiles and monitors medication interactions.
  • Processes medication orders, compiles and distributes medications, and educates patients and staff.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and educational programs.
  • Manages inventory and resolves discrepancies in medication administration.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Active Clinical Pharmacist license in Illinois (IDFPR).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy.
  • Training and knowledge of specialty areas preferred.
  • Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent hospital pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

  • Preferred additional training and knowledge in specialty areas such as neonatology, critical care, oncology, etc.
  • Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent hospital pharmacy experience.

Skills

  • Expertise in pharmacokinetics and adverse reactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.

Schedule
