Clinical Pharmacist - Per Diem

About the role

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital is a UPMC and Select Medical partnership facility located inside UPMC West Shore. The position is a Per Diem, 1 to 2 weekend per month, with potential for weekday opportunities. The compensation is $65.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixtures.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after discharge.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical services.
• Ability to provide clinical support in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and patient instruction skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
