Clinical Pharmacist - Oncology
About the role
The Clinical Pharmacist – Oncology supports infusion pharmacy operations in West Palm Beach, providing specialized pharmaceutical care for oncology patients receiving infusion therapies. In this role, caregivers are responsible for reviewing and verifying medication orders, overseeing the preparation and compounding of oncology and infusion medications, and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to optimize patient care.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders
- Oversee the preparation and compounding of oncology and infusion medications
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to optimize patient care
- Serve as an integral member of the oncology care team, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of cancer therapies while maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards
- Work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm
Requirements
- PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for Individuals administering immunizations
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one of hire for individuals responding to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events
Preferred qualifications
- Board Certification
- Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
- Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PCY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists in a specialized pharmacy practice area
- Experience compounding oncology medications strongly preferred
- Prior infusion pharmacy experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting. Must have normal or corrected vision. Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
