Full-time on the Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.
About the role
Responsible for providing specialized pharmaceutical services including advising physicians on matters pertaining to drug usage and control within assigned hospital locations; and participate in the development and delivery of continuing education programs for Pharmacy, Patient Care Services, Medical staff and students.

- OR preference bags
- Hazardous medication dispensing and compounding
- Clinical pharmacy services
- Unit-dosing of medication
- Automatic dispensing machines (Pyxis)
- Investigational study pharmacy
- Medication delivery
Work Environment
The Pharmacy Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide excellent pharmaceutical care to Children’s of Alabama patients. Services are provided from a central pharmacy in the Benjamin Russell building, with decentralized services on units and several pharmacy satellites (main campus OR, Children’s South, hematology/oncology clinic, Investigational Pharmacy). The pharmacy utilizes Epic, Epic Willow Inventory, bar code scanning, vertical carousels, and kit management software.
Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacist in Alabama
- Alabama Controlled Substances Registration
- Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD)
