About the role

We are North Shore Medical Center. Our primary function is to offer continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services on a 24-hour basis, under physician directed care and RN supervision. We service a multitude of patients and their families across our vast network, while remaining committed to the professional development of our staff, the functional improvement of our patients, and the cultivation of strong partnerships within our communities.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the mission of the department and hospital by preventing, identifying and resolving drug related problems to assure patients safety, improve patients' satisfaction, optimize patients' outcome and minimize cost.
  • Works in the Pharmacy, as well as in patient care areas.
  • Performs all functions of a registered pharmacist including accurate and timely dispensing, clinical interaction with the healthcare team, patients' involvement, and technician supervision.
  • Collaborates with patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and fiscally responsible patient-centered care.
  • Interprets, reviews and processes medication orders, screens orders for appropriateness and intervenes as warranted.
  • Provides patients and providers with therapeutic assessments and selected disease management, for assigned clinical areas, working toward improving patient and practice outcomes.
  • Uses knowledge of therapeutics, nutrition, toxicology, pharmacokinetics and drug information to positively affect the outcomes of care given to pediatric through geriatric aged patients while at the hospital.
  • Carries out the daily tasks and responsibilities of medication order interpretation, drug therapy review, drug dispensing and assisting in the dissemination of drug information to patients and members of Florida Medical Center's healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Current Florida Licensure in Pharmacy.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy.
  • Bachelor of Science required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year hospital experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test screenings.
