Clinical Pharmacist

About the Role

As a Staff Pharmacist at TriStar Summit Medical Center, you will assist in performing daily pharmacy tasks, including filling orders for medications, monitoring patient therapeutic medications, providing drug information, checking medications, IV mixtures, and compounding medications prior to distribution.

Responsibilities

• Utilize problem-solving abilities to resolve issues, consulting other knowledgeable parties as necessary.
• Maintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly.
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors, and complaints.
• Determine and consult on possible drug interactions.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory, and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate using computerized documentation systems.
• Utilize knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Licensure in the State of Tennessee.
• Board Certification preferred.
• One-year hospital experience preferred.
• Residency preferred.
