Responsibilities
- Oversee supervisory, distributive, and clinical functions of the Pharmacy
- Promptly review, process, check, and monitor physician orders, patient medication profiles, and completed prescriptions
- Conduct routine daily rounds on assigned nursing units
- Accurately provide drug information, recommendations, and interventions to physicians, other health care professionals, and patients
- Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Pharmacy in maximizing department performance and implementing/improving services
- Conduct, perform, and present assigned projects to P&T and other committees as appropriate
- Delegated duties by the Director or Assistant Director of Pharmacy Services are accurately and promptly completed
- Maintain an appropriate level of competency by completing at least 15 Continuing Education (CE) credit hours, including 6 CE live credit hours per licensing year
Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree from a college of pharmacy
- Previous experience in hospital pharmacy preferred
- Ability to work under direct or minimal supervision, handle stress, cooperate with staff, handle frequent interruptions, prioritize tasks, make decisions, and respond to emergencies
- Knowledge of pharmacokinetic and drug dosing protocols, ability to provide pharmacokinetic consultation for agents requiring such monitoring, evaluate drug therapy orders, suggest therapeutic alternatives, analyze patient parameters, and recommend appropriate dosing
- Participation in patient care rounds to provide input into monitoring of drug therapy, report adverse drug reactions or medication errors, record recommendations, interventions, or other activities in EPIC

- Ability to communicate, supervise, organize, learn, and teach
- Registered Pharmacist - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy
