Key Responsibilities
- Distributes medications efficiently within the hospital system.
- Functions independently and without direct supervision.
- Processes work at a pace that meets departmental, patient, and institutional needs.
- Keeps abreast of relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures accurate documentation of interventions.
- Trains in handling hazardous drugs according to regulatory standards.
- Ensures adequate stock availability during emergencies.
Clinical Services
- Responds promptly to drug information requests.
- Prioritizes clinical issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Communicates effectively based on the nature of the issue.
- Documents all interventions according to department standards.
- Participates in departmental clinical initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
- Directs pharmacy technician activities to maintain adequate staffing.
- Maintains professional development through ongoing education.
- Performs patient education and counseling, including assessing patient understanding.
Required Qualifications
- Pharmacy degree from an accredited college.
- Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.
- Adequate attention to detail.
- Licensure as a Pharmacist in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
