Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

As our Clinical Pharmacist, you’ll help doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help patients recover from illness or injury. You’ll review every prescription for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, or anything unusual, providing the final expert check. To excel, you’ll research information in real-time, deliver exceptional care, and continually look for ways to go above and beyond for patients.

Responsibilities

• Document clinical activities and interventions such as consults, patient teachings, and other patient-specific information as defined by policy and procedure.
• Interpret medication orders and/or prescriptions for drug interactions, appropriate drug selection, and appropriateness.
• Accurately enter, verify, label, and dispense medications in a timely manner.
• Verify and check medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
• Communicate drug information to patients and health professionals.
• Resolve drug-related problems by consulting with other healthcare professionals to achieve appropriate patient outcomes.
• Clarify unclear orders written by licensed providers with the provider.
• Assist licensed providers in appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
• Maintain an adequate knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served.
• Provide basic clinical services as required by policy and procedure.
• Maintain a working knowledge of automated systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy, upon hire.
• Pharmacist license in Kentucky, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification, upon hire.

Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, upon hire.

Pay

$52.02 - $77.38 per hour.
