This position is responsible for performing activities associated with administration and management of pharmacy programs, including but not limited to:

• Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a Disease State Formulary System
• Utilization Management Programs
• Specialty Pharmacy Management
• Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
• Client relationships and support
• Development of innovative clinical programs

The Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in advancing the quality, safety, and effectiveness of drug therapy for Healthspring Medicare members. In this role, you will collaborate with a high-performing, multidisciplinary team to conduct comprehensive medication reviews (CMRs) for high-risk populations. These reviews include:

• Assessment of drug interactions
• Identifying therapeutic duplications
• Evaluating renal and hepatic dosing adjustments
• Addressing evidence-based gaps in care
• Supporting STAR-related pharmacy initiatives
• Identifying barriers to medication affordability and adherence

The Clinical Optimization Pharmacist is responsible for daily clinical pharmacy activities within the Medicare program, supporting the development and execution of initiatives that improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of drug therapy in coordination with ambulatory care providers and clinical teams. This position requires limited regional travel (up to 25%) to support assigned provider groups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medication reviews (CMRs) for high-risk populations
• Assess drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and dosing adjustments
• Address evidence-based gaps in care and support STAR-related pharmacy initiatives
• Identify barriers to medication affordability and adherence
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve drug therapy quality and cost-effectiveness
• Develop and execute clinical pharmacy initiatives within the Medicare program
• Travel up to 25% to support assigned provider groups
• Build and maintain client relationships and support innovative clinical programs

Requirements

• Registered Pharmacist in the United States
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State of residence (Sponsorship is not available)
• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy degree strongly preferred)
• Professional experience in managed care and/or ambulatory care (3+ years preferred)
• Experience with Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs strongly preferred
• Familiarity with MTM platforms (e.g., Adhere Health’s Optimize or similar applications) preferred
• Foundational understanding of the CMS Medicare program and associated regulatory landscape
• Foundational understanding of CMS quality improvement programs
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Work hours align with Mountain Standard Time Zone, with willingness to work in Central Time Zone as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within Pharmacy practice
• Completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy PGY1 Residency program
• Residency and/or Board Certification
• Managed care and/or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience
• Government programs knowledge (Medicare/Medicaid)
• Registered pharmacist preceptor

Pay

$102,000.00 - $184,300.00. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
