Clinical or Tenure Assistant / Associate Professor (Anesthesia)

Kansas State University - College of Veterinary Medicine Department of Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Health Center invites applications for a tenure- or clinical-track faculty position in Veterinary Anesthesia at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank (rank commensurate with experience and goals).
The position fits candidates seeking scholarly careers, clinically intensive careers, or both, and the Department is motivated to tailor the role accordingly. Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent and have residency training in veterinary anesthesia; non-boarded applicants receive eight weeks for ACVAA exam preparation.
The faculty member will provide multi-species clinical anesthesia; teach veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students; and pursue scholarly activity aligned with rank/track. Contributions to quality improvement, patient safety, and institutional service are expected in proportion to appointment.
About Us
The successful candidate will join a collaborative anesthesia service with three ACVAA diplomates, one board-eligible anesthesiologist, 2-3 residents, and six anesthesia nurses. In 2025, the Veterinary Health Center completed a full renovation of its perioperative complex. This \~9,000-sq-ft surgical space includes modern ORs, induction, and recovery suites; robust equipment staging; a centralized nurses' station; new anesthesia workstations; dedicated ultrasound for locoregional and vascular access; and portable bronchoscopy for difficult airways and specialized cardiothoracic cases.
The hospital is actively modernizing clinical infrastructure to support advanced care, immersive teaching, and high-reliability perioperative systems.

- Minimum Qualifications:
- Assistant Professor: DVM or Equivalent Degree
- Associate Professor: DVM
- Demonstrate excellence in clinical service, patient care and clinical instruction
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Have residency training in veterinary anesthesia
