About the role

Join our teams of dedicated clinicians who value intervening at the intersection of medical and behavioral health for the best patient outcomes. Brown University Health (Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Newport Hospital - affiliated hospitals of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University) is seeking a clinical or counseling psychologist to join our Young Adult and General Outpatient Psychiatry teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services in our Young Adult Psychiatry Program and in our General Outpatient Psychiatry service, as part of a multidisciplinary team, including intake evaluations and individual psychotherapy.
  • Treat a broad range of mental and behavioral health conditions.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and care coordinators to connect patients with essential community resources.
  • Conduct intake evaluations, individual psychotherapy.
  • Consult during monthly psychiatric case conferences.
  • Have the opportunity to be involved in training and/or supervision of psychology or medical residents or fellows affiliated with the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University.

Requirements

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program required.
  • Clinical internship from an APA-accredited program required.
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Rhode Island (includes completion of postdoctoral fellowship).

Qualifications

  • Desire to work in a team-based care model and collaborate with other providers.
  • Drawn to a diverse patient population and range of clinical presentations.
  • Interest in academic teaching and working in an academic medical center.
  • Good sense of humor and desire to be part of a supportive environment.

Pay

Generous sign-on bonus
Competitive base salary, tiered by years of experience

Stipend for academic promotions
$2,000 professional allowance for licensing and CEUs + 5 professional days

Schedule

100% outpatient setting with a M-F schedule, 40 hours per week (30 hours clinical, 10 hours administrative).
