About the Role
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Office Assistant for our Cancer Center Infusion clinic.
Shift/Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours/week, 1st shift, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, 3-4 weekends per year, 1 holiday every two years.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer-focused service and support to patient flow in a unit-based setting
- Patient registration, scheduling, and billing
- Assist with pre-certification if applicable (collect insurance information; receipt of co-pays or bill payments)
- Medical records retrieval, release, or collection
- Data entry and answering phones
- Routine problem resolution and assistance with patient flow coordination
- Initiate follow-up with appropriate staff as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy and confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA laws)
- Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- 1 year of experience in an office front desk role, healthcare registration, scheduling, or other patient-facing healthcare positions
Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer fluency/literacy
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Organization and prioritization skills
