About the Role
Joyce University is seeking experienced nursing professionals in Western and/or Northern South Dakota to serve as Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty. This is an opportunity to take the expertise you've built at the bedside and use it to help prepare the next generation of nurses.
Designed for working nurses, this part-time faculty opportunity allows you to expand your impact through education while continuing your clinical practice. Faculty typically teach 1–2 clinical shifts per week during the academic term, providing a meaningful way to stay connected to patient care while developing the next generation of nurses.
Responsibilities
- Guide students through hands-on clinical instruction in local healthcare facilities
- Inspire, mentor, and evaluate future nursing professionals
- Support student learning by identifying academic or behavioral challenges and offering remediation
- Contribute to ongoing curriculum development and program improvement
- Maintain professional growth and stay current with best practices in clinical care
- Participate in university events including staff meetings, pinning ceremonies, and graduation
Requirements
- RN license (unencumbered) in the State of South Dakota
- Master’s degree in nursing
- 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience
Preferred:
- 2–3 years of teaching experience
