Role Overview The Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) supports, supervises, and evaluates nursing staff during their initial onboarding period, promoting clinical excellence within a specialty area. Acts across nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system interactions to ensure quality care. Facilitates a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to healthcare delivery and establishes competency standards for staff. Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise, providing consultation and resources to improve patient outcomes. Participates in clinical rounds with the healthcare team and collaborates closely with physicians to foster collegial relationships. Qualifications & Skills Master's Degree in a recognized clinical nurse specialist program.Alaska Registered Nurse License and current specialty certification (e.g., CEN, CCRN).At least 3 years of nursing experience in the specialty area.Minimum of 2 years of clinical leadership experience.Current BLS certification and, upon hire, CNS certification preferred. Key Duties Support and mentor staff during their initial clinical practice period.Implement clinical standards and promote staff competency.Serve as a clinical resource, conducting patient care consultations.Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and foster collaborative relationships with physicians and staff.
