Clinical Nurse - Oncology Surgical ICU

About the Role

Provides direct patient care in a specialized ICU for critically ill oncology and bone marrow transplant patients. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring communication across care settings. Promotes patient and family-centered care by educating on illness management, medication, and post-discharge needs. Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and barriers. Engages in professional development activities, including educational programs and certifications such as CCRN, OCN, and BMTNC.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance
• Communicate care plans proactively with patients, families, and the care team
• Educate patients and families on illness management, medication, and post-discharge needs
• Evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of patients
• Work safely in a safety-sensitive environment

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Nursing diploma or associate's degree (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
• Less than two years of experience (preferred)
• No prior experience or supervisory experience necessary
