Responsibilities

• Oversee psychiatric nursing care delivery.
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and safety protocols.
• Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as needed.
• Recruit, train, and supervise psychiatric nurses and support staff.
• Schedule shifts, manage workloads, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Foster a supportive and trauma-informed work environment.
• Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations.
• Manage budgets, resources, and documentation systems.
• Lead or participate in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
• Monitor safety protocols and therapeutic milieu standards.
• Address patient, family, and staff feedback to improve care delivery.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and care planning.
• Collaborate with community mental health organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse license in the state of Louisiana required.
• 5 years experience in Psychiatric nursing and prior management experience required.
• MSN or related advanced degree preferred.
• Psychiatric nursing certification is a plus.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Crisis management and de-escalation techniques.
• Knowledge of psychopharmacology and mental health disorders.
