About the role

The Clinical Nurse Leader at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting physiological, psychological, and functional data. They implement interventions, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and provide comprehensive nursing care, including specialized treatments and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Formulate nursing diagnoses using evidence-based techniques and instruments.
• Implement and evaluate interventions based on the plan of care and interdisciplinary treatment plan.
• Collaborate with Allied Health staff to improve patient care outcomes.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and maintain patient satisfaction.
• Orient patients and families to SRAlab and coordinate handoffs of care.
• Evaluate and customize care plans to meet patient and family goals and reduce complications.
• Assess learning needs and develop plans to address them.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data to improve patient outcomes and review Institute policies and procedures.
• Establish and maintain a learning environment and conduct patient care conferences.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities and resolve interdepartmental issues.

Requirements

• Master's of Science degree in Nursing (or equivalent).
• National certification as Clinical Nurse Leader, or completion of CNL within one year, and ongoing maintenance of Clinical Nurse Leader national certification/annual continuing education requirements.
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• CPR certification.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Understanding of patient growth and development stages.
• Demonstrated leadership and initiative.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
