Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague is an RN who partners fully with the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. They possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as outlined in the position description addendum.
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague embodies UPHS organizational behavioral competencies that align with the institution's mission and are embedded in professional practice competency domains. They independently provide patient care using the nursing process and take responsibility for the care of assigned patients, whose ages range from infancy to the elderly.
Responsibilities
- Independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process
- Works closely with the interprofessional health care team to coordinate care across the continuum
- Demonstrates within competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork
- Sets and receives feedback in assuming leadership roles and provides feedback for improved clinical practice
- Demonstrates how nursing practice impacts the organizational vision, mission, and goals and the care delivery system
- Complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required
- More than 15 months of relevant professional nursing experience and completion of the Nurse Residency Program, if applicable
- Pennsylvania RN licensure required
- BLS/CPR certification as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association required
