What You Will Be Doing

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain the standards of professional nursing practices in the clinical setting.
You will integrate patient care standards in all clinical activities; participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes.
The RN will maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers.
Responsibilities
- Critical care, clinical competence
- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to pediatric and adult patients
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to patient change in condition such as Cardiac rhythm or respiratory distress in the post operative phase
- Care for the patient’s post-surgery recovery by observing patients for side effects of anesthesia
- Monitoring patient’s level of consciousness throughout sedation recovery
- Communicates appropriate information and patient advocacy regarding pre-operative / post operative conditions to those who require the information including surgeons and anesthesiologist
Experience Required
- 1+ years’ of acute care experience
Experience Preferred
- Critical care experience
Education Required
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing
Certifications Required
- NYS RN license and registration required
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required
