Clinical Nurse - Emergency Department

Role Overview

This nursing position involves providing direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established standards. The role emphasizes promoting patient and family-centered care, educating patients on managing their health, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration with an interprofessional team and effective communication are essential to develop and document individualized care plans that address physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering holistic patient care and education to support recovery and safety
• Participating in quality improvement and safety activities
• Developing and communicating comprehensive care plans in collaboration with the care team and patients/families
• Assessing patient needs, preferences, and barriers to involvement
• Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety protocols

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed RN with a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Experience in emergency or critical care nursing is desirable
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work alertly and safely in a high-acuity environment
