As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator Rehabilitation, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn – whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the nursing unit on designated shifts, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
  • Function as a resource person for staff members and assist in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.
  • Assume responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when on duty.
  • Make decisions regarding activities based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource standards, and Standards of Care for the Unit.
  • Support and demonstrate alignment and leadership of the mission of Wesley Healthcare and Wesley ICARE standards.
  • Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality of care activities to initiate, implement, and sustain process improvements.
  • Maintain current professional knowledge, act as a role model/resource, and oversee direct nursing care to patients.
  • Establish and maintain effective and respectful communication in development of all collaborative relationships.
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify, interpret, and access appropriate resources in patient-specific scenarios.
  • Secure, administer, and handle medication according to established guidelines.
  • Deliver patient-centered nursing care in accordance with standards of care defined by Wesley Medical Center.
  • Assist with assessment and evaluation of staffing patterns for proper utilization of personnel, according to patient acuity levels.
  • Assist in investigations, documentation, and resolution of complaints or incidents concerning patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
  • Participate in and enforce hospital life-safety, quality, and risk management policies, procedures, and standards of regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of goals and objectives for the department.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, orientation, and evaluation of staff performance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Diploma.
