Clinical NICU Dietitian

Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian at Overland Park Regional Medical Center is responsible for assessing the nutritional status of patients and designing nutrition programs to maintain or improve their health. They serve as a consultant within the Food and Nutrition Department and make recommendations on menu options, snacks, and other aspects of nutritional provision.

What You Will Do

• Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling to patients on modified diets.
• Conduct nutritional screenings and assessments of patients.
• Collaborate with physicians to coordinate and implement nutritional recommendations.
• Identify and communicate potential nutritional implications of medications and document this information in patients' records.
• Notify the FNS Dietary Aides which patient foods are allowed and disallowed based on the prescribed diet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in dietetics, food and nutrition, food service systems management or a related area that meets the requirements of the American Dietetic Association is required.
• Registered through the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
• Current state licensure (if mandated by law) is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Eligible and willing to sit for CDE exam within 2 years of hire date and/or first eligible exam.
• Minimum of 1 year of dietitian experience is required.
