Clinical Manager (Medical Assistant Supervisor)

About the Role

We’re different than most primary care providers. We’re rapidly expanding and we need great people to join our team. The Care Supervisor, functioning under the supervision and guidance of the PCP and/or Clinical Dyad leader, is responsible for organizing and directing the work of the clinical staff, coordinating staff activities and schedules to ensure effective patient care services, and ensuring quality standards are met. This role leads back office center operations including quality, compliance, human resources, patient experience, clinical standards of care, and direct supervision of employees. The Care Supervisor works with medical leaders, care team members, and patients to ensure VIP service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Service the needs of our patients by running the clinical operations of the center to meet leadership and growth demands.
  • Lead and monitor performance of clinical operations and implement progressive improvements as needed.
  • Ensure key performance targets are met, including but not limited to SSP metrics, wait times, care team integrity, Care Promoter engagement, and turnover.
  • Lead the quality selection and hiring of clinical staff, including Licensed Practical Nurses, Care Promoters, and Medication & Pharmacy Techs.
  • Collaborate with PCPs to manage care team performance.
  • Provide and facilitate orientation and onboarding of new care team members, ensuring they are fully trained in the philosophy of care, patient flow, and clinical competencies.
  • Ensure OSHA, clinical, and quality standards are met by monitoring performance and implementing corrective action plans when needed.
  • Provide ongoing education and training in collaboration with the Market Clinical Manager to enable team members to meet patient care and organizational priorities.
  • Supervise completion of patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning care team members and following up on work results.
  • Manage and monitor the operation of medical and administrative equipment, including verifying emergency equipment availability, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Manage medical supply inventories to optimum levels by maximizing efficiencies.
  • Complete all required training to dispense medications from the medication room.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; BA/BS degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Active and good standing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in current state of employment OR a nationally accredited Certified Medical Assistant required; other clinical licensure/certifications above the minimum requirement may also be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive work experience in a medical clinic, hospital, or similarly regulated healthcare environment required.
  • A minimum of 2 years management experience with direct reports required; experience in a medical clinic, hospital, or similarly regulated environment strongly preferred.
  • IV Therapy certification for LPNs where required by State Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is preferred.
  • EMR system experience is a plus.

  • Skilled in taking patients’ vital signs and obtaining blood and other samples for laboratory work.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, including physicians, nurses, front desk staff, center managers, and market leaders.
  • Ability to use data to develop insights and manage multiple operations.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy of reports and data.
  • Ability to manage multiple processes and effectively lead a team.
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
  • Ability to remain calm and flexible in busy or stressful situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, plus other database and/or presentation software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to 10% of the time.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English; bilingual (Spanish/Creole) a plus.

Pay

The posted pay range represents the base annual full-time salary for this position: $54,358 - $77,655. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
