About the role

The Clinical Leader is a collaborative leader of the care team and is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the optimal provision of care through daily management of unit operations as prescribed by the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. In addition, the Clinical Leader is accountable to practice in accordance with the standards established/endorsed by Trinity Health leadership and by external regulators and accreditation agencies. The Clinical Leader actively promotes the Trinity Health Model of Care and the nursing profession, in fulfillment of the Trinity Health Quality Plan for Nursing. The Clinical Leader is accountable to drive nursing practice though facilitation of shared governance. The Clinical Leader is expected to abide by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care
  • Facilitate the implementation of evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines
  • Coordinate care planning and discharge processes to optimize patient outcomes
  • Provide mentorship and support to new and less experienced nurses
  • Participate in shared governance activities to enhance unit operations and patient care
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies
  • Advocate for patient-centered care and promote the nursing profession

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Active license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan
  • Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization is preferred
  • Membership in a professional nursing organization is preferred

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for all inpatient bedside care areas, and inpatient and outpatient surgical services required within 45 days from date of hire or transfer

Skills

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Knowledge of nursing best practices and standards
  • Experience with patient care coordination and discharge planning
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Schedule

Full-Time position scheduled 40 hours per week - with a weekend rotation and holiday commitment.
