About the Role

NeoGenomics is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for our Pharma Services FISH department in Fort Myers, FL. Responsibilities

  • Performs complex clinical laboratory tests proficiently under general supervision, exercising independent judgment in the assigned specialty.
  • Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and reporting while maintaining accurate and complete records.
  • Ensures proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
  • Determines specimen acceptability, prepares clinical specimens for testing, and identifies specimen-related problems according to established SOP guidelines.
  • Analyzes specimens using approved testing procedures, reviews and releases test results, and follows department procedures for reporting STAT or Critical results.
  • Performs and documents Quality Control (QC) on reagents, equipment, and assays, addressing QC failures with the department Supervisor or Lead Technologist.
  • Documents corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
  • Prepares stock solutions, reagents, and cocktails as per established SOPs, tests and evaluates them based on standard criteria, and documents results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university preferred. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences with at least one year of laboratory experience/training.
  • 1+ years of experience in high complexity testing preferred.

Qualifications

  • Nationally: ASCP certification for the assigned specialty (CG ASCP required).
  • State-specific licensure:
    • FL: Current state license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
    • CA: Current state license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist, or Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist.
    • TN: Current state license as a Medical Laboratory Professional.

Schedule

Dayshift, with options for either 5x8's (Tuesday-Saturday) or 4x10's (Wednesday-Saturday). Schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
