About the role

A Technologist responsible for performing and monitoring laboratory testing to ensure accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities

• Assess specimen acceptability based on established criteria
• Perform routine and complex tests following SOPs
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
• Make technical decisions and resolve testing issues
• Prepare and evaluate reagents and controls
• Report precise test results to support patient care
• Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control
• Manage testing supplies and assist with specimen processing
• Maintain a safe work environment with proper PPE

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical, Biological, or Medical Science
• Molecular MT FL State License (Preferred)
• Pass a color blindness test
• Meet physical requirements for the role

Skills

• Clinical laboratory testing experience
• Certifications like ASCP or AMT
• Knowledge of laboratory operations, high-volume settings, and LIS systems
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Flexibility for shifts and overtime
