Clinical Laboratory Team Lead - Chemistry
Job Responsibilities
Aid the supervisor in managing the day-to-day operations of the Department/Lab.
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for management.
Support the training of new hires and the development of current employees.
Inform the supervisor about the group's progress, issues, employee performance, and significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities.
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Accurately and timely report test results to ensure high-quality patient care.
Document and perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to appropriate personal protective equipment guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 4 years of experience as a Technologist
- Preferred: ASCP and/or AMT Certifications, 2 years of experience as a Technologist in Chemistry, 6 months of supervisory or leadership experience
Additional Job Standards
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies and procedures
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Comfortable making decisions in a changing environment
- Physical ability to handle the demands of the position
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $45.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, and internal equity and market data.
