Clinical Laboratory Scientist Lead (CLS III)

Responsibilities
- Functions as Section Supervisor or Lead, overseeing daily operations
- Provides consultative services to the medical staff as a Technical Consultant
- Oversees performance improvement programs and hospital-wide initiatives
- Manages technical and financial aspects of the section
- Ensures quality assurance and compliance with regulations
- Affirms staff competency and conducts performance evaluations
- Verifies accuracy of patient results before release or reporting
- Develops, maintains, and updates policies and procedures
- Monitors and documents equipment maintenance
- Recognizes and addresses age-specific differences in test results
- Ensures proficiency testing samples are analyzed similarly to patient samples
- Maintains currency of laboratory policies and procedures
- Adheres to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources policies
- May be assigned additional responsibilities related to LIS and/or POC
Qualifications
- ASCP certification or equivalent preferred
- Minimum five years hospital laboratory work experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)
- Current and valid state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $38.59 to $53.88. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
