About the Role

This position involves performing a wide range of clinical laboratory tests on biological specimens, ensuring accurate results, confidentiality, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and conduct tests across various departments, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood bank.
  • Review, evaluate, document, and report test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
  • Employ proper specimen collection, handling, labeling, and storage procedures, following HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Perform quality control checks, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration.
  • Supervise and train laboratory assistants and clerks as needed.
  • Participate in data collection for performance improvement and document adverse events.
  • Expedite critical values and communicate results to clinicians efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related field (required).
  • Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license (required).
  • Preferred certifications include ASCP or NCA.
  • Experience in clinical laboratory testing is preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
