About the role

This position is responsible for providing data for patient management by performing tests and procedures in various specialties and subspecialties. It involves monitoring results, verifying reports, and documenting all incompatible or highly abnormal results. The role requires independent judgment in performing and monitoring laboratory procedures, quality control, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and timely test results
  • Monitor and verify laboratory reports
  • Document all incompatible or highly abnormal results
  • Exercise independent judgment in performing and monitoring laboratory procedures, quality control, and preventive maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other hospital personnel for quality patient management
  • Work with a diverse patient population from adolescents to geriatrics

Qualifications

  • Current license with the California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
  • BS Degree required
  • ASCP Certification preferred
  • 2 years of responsible, noteworthy working experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, including duties in the general laboratory and Blood Bank
  • Proficient frontline communication skills
  • Computer skills with experience using Microsoft software at an intermediate level
  • Firesafe
