Clinical Laboratory Scientist

About the role

This position requires a U.S. Citizen to serve as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Molecular Technologist) in Silver Spring, MD, with a salary range of $85,000–$95,000 annually.

Duties and Tasks

• Evaluates protocols for compliance with applicable regulations governing human subjects’ protection.
• Provides oversight and coordinates the functions associated with an “honest broker” system.
• Analyzes the role and impact of other auxiliary departments on proposed studies and coordinates their input.
• Participates with the Principal Investigator in the scientific design of protocols and makes recommendations on methodology.
• Assures the proper documentation of project/study, with particular attention to any protocol modifications.
• May be authorized to work a schedule that differs from the Anticipated Duty Hours, if approved by the COR or KO.
• Follows mandatory documents applicable to the contract; changes to such documents that alter the scope of performance will only be implemented after a change order or modification from the KO.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS, RN, or BSN degree or equivalent and 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Professional knowledge of scientific and biomedical concepts, principles, and practices to develop and support clinical cases, interpret regulations, identify compliance risks, and communicate professionally with physicians and healthcare personnel.
• Working knowledge of scientific, biomedical, and medical terminology.
