About the Role
The Clinical Laboratory Technician II, under direct supervision of unlicensed or licensed CLS, MLT, or section manager, functions as an unlicensed or licensed staff member in a licensed clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include duties approved by California business code 1269, CLIA, and other regulatory agencies, with a focus on patient preparation, specimen preparation, client service activities, preparation and management of reagents and supplies, and performing procedures and QC functions approved by regulatory agencies.
Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the age and developmental issues of the patient population(s) being served. May be asked to take direction from a Lead or Senior level position.

Requirements
- 1+ years of experience working for a large laboratory or academic institution
- 3+ years of experience in technical phlebotomy, if blood collection is required for the lab section
- Experience in medical terminology sufficient to understand and discuss technical aspects of pathology and laboratory medicine
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Valid California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Certificate verifiable by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) when duties include phlebotomy
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree
