Clinical Lab Scientist II CLS

About the role

Our Clinical Lab Scientists (level II) perform clinical testing in one or more of the following areas: blood bank, chemistry, serology, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, special chemistry, microbiology and manual tests. Responsibilities

• Perform automated, semi-automated and manual procedures in the fields of bacteriology, parasitology, hematology, coagulation, serology, chemistry, urinalysis, immunology, and immunohematology.
• Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
• Interpret results as to their accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.
• Organize work to meet established deadlines and record all data obtained.
• Work actively and cooperate with nursing and other hospital staff to ensure timely patient care and assist with regulatory compliance.
• Responsible for training lab personnel and expected to perform in‑charge assignment in the absence of a manager.

Requirements

• Valid California State Department of Health Services Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
