About the role

Reporting to the Laboratory Director and Technical Supervisors, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for correctly performing technical procedures and Quality Control in the Clinical Lab, operating and maintaining instrumentation, and taking steps necessary to assure accurate reports. Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy and clerical tasks as well as other duties as needed.

Laboratory staff must perform their duties and accept responsibility for the accuracy of their work as dictated in their Professional Standards as Clinical Laboratory Scientists or Health Care Workers. Staff members will maintain confidentiality of all reports, ensure the integrity of patient sample identification, and perform tasks to comply with all regulatory standards of Clinical and Anatomic Laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical procedures and Quality Control in the Clinical Lab
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation
• Ensure accurate reporting of laboratory results
• Perform phlebotomy and clerical tasks as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of patient samples and reports
• Comply with all regulatory standards for Clinical and Anatomic Laboratories

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science or medical technology, or completion of a medical technology internship
• Three months to a year of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (National licensure preferred)

Pay

$45.08 - $69.86 hourly

Individual wages are determined based upon qualifications and experience.
